Launch of Guidelines for the Interpretation and Presentation of Cultural Heritage Sites in Egypt.

Dr. Nuria Sanz, Officer in Charge of UNESCO Office in Cairo and Dr. Moamen Othman, Head of Museums Sector at MoTA , announced the launch of the “Guidelines for the Interpretation and Presentation of Cultural Heritage Sites in Egypt.” This groundbreaking event represented a significant milestone in preserving and promoting Egypt’s cultural legacy and an exemplary model of international cooperation with the framework of the “Improving accessibility and Presentation of Cultural Heritage Sites and Museums in Egypt”, a project supported by UNESCO.

The launch event gathered numerous guests, ambassadors, including government officials, renowned archaeologists, heritage experts, representatives from MOTA, UNESCO, UN family in Egypt and respected members of the media. This occasion served as a reference of a closed relation and complementarity between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and UNESCO Regional Office in Cairo in ensuring the responsible interpretation of Egypt’s cultural heritage sites.

The guidelines encompass various aspects, including site interpretation, visitor engagement, storytelling techniques, accessibility, sustainability and the integration of cutting-edge technologies. By adhering to these guidelines, Egypt aims to create immersive and educational experiences that enable visitors to appreciate the nation’s rich cultural heritage better. Furthermore, the launch event featured live demonstrations showcasing innovative technologies and interactive exhibits, highlighting practical examples of how the guidelines can be effectively implemented to create engaging and immersive experiences for visitors.
